Do I Have to Tithe in Order to Receive Financial Success?

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

My question is on tithing. If one’s reality is that they must tithe financially to become wealthy than it is so for them, and if one believes it is not necessary to tithe to achieve financial success than it is so for them, since we all create our own reality? What is your answer to this? I’m puzzled. I’ve been studying the Law of Attraction since last summer and read Ask and It Is Given, and I’m Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams which claims it is absolutely necessary to tithe 10% before taxes to receive. At times I do enjoy giving but do I have to in order to receive financial success, and security? – Penny

Yes, it is necessary to give in order to receive AND yes, if someone has pure belief about something then it is true for them and there reality shall be different than someone who does not have that pure belief. However, this answer doesn’t apply to whether or not it’s necessary to give. I will explain why.

On our spiritual path, there are levels of consciousness that are obtained as we grow. Within each level of consciousness are certain Truths. As we obtain higher and higher states of consciousness, we assume these truths and we shed the illusions that we previously held on lower levels of consciousness.

That said, it is not in alignment with the higher states of consciousness to have a ‘belief’ that it’s not necessary to give and to tithe. There is a consistent sense of perfection, desire and joy within higher states of consciousness that simply inspire giving.

The question of whether or not to tithe comes from a lower level of consciousness and cannot be separated from the fear that inspires it. If it cannot be separated from the fear, then it is a toxic and negative vibration and therefore does not hold a pure, positive vibration but just the opposite.

Giving, tithing, and sharing have higher vibrations than stockpiling, hoarding, and storing. When we give we experience concentrated moments of joy, freedom, gratitude, love, willingness, revelation, trust, certainty and peace.

When we hoard, even if it’s inspired hoarding, we miss out on the vibrations of joy from giving. Inevitably, we tap into that stream of consciousness that contaminates our vibration with fear.

Fears such as:

- There’s not enough.
- What if something bad happens?
- I have to protect myself and my family.
- I don’t know how they will use my money; therefore I don’t want to give it away.
- What if I go through what I went through before?
- I never want to be broke or poor again.
- I don’t know how long this prosperity will last.

Here’s another example to sharpen your perspective on this:

Some skeptics call ‘law of attraction’ students hedonistic because we believe that we should do ‘whatever feels good’. They justify their name-calling, by following the linear rationalization which would imply that if we ‘felt like’ committing a violent act, we’d just do it. If we ‘felt good’ about stealing, we’d just steal. If we ‘felt good’ about being promiscuous, irresponsible, careless, or selfish, we’re free to follow that self-indulgent, pleasure-seeking inspiration without consequence.

This is a gross misinterpretation of what we really know and the guidelines that we follow. We understand that we reap what we sow. Murder, for example, is never inspired from a higher level of consciousness. No matter how much someone ‘believes’ they can get away with it, the act itself is governed by a negative state of consciousness and therefore, has negative consequences. Even if a criminal avoids imprisonment or governmental consequences, the law of cause and effect will wield its’ own fury that cannot be avoided.

The same is true for tithing. When we refuse to give, we are yielding to a lower level of consciousness that will predictably and unsurprisingly cause less prosperity and more strife in our lives.

Therefore, even when we don’t ‘feel’ like tithing, find a way to joyously give and to share anyway because this automatically boosts your level of positive consciousness!

As my honey says in a mocking, pretentious faux-accent “Anything less would be uncivilized.”

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Money and Spirituality – do they mix?

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

The hoary argument that you cannot have both – spirituality and abundance continues to proliferate and entangle the minds and experience of many seekers.

As a culture, we constantly deal with the subconscious remnants caused by the conflict between money and spirituality. We have allowed toxic ideas to pervade our unlimited essence like a virus destroying our intrinsic right to wealth and fulfillment.

Ideas such as ‘money is the root of all evil’, that ‘it’s easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven’, and that ‘if you are rich, then you must be either a crook, selfish, or hardened’ abound in the global consciousness poisoning our natural right to wealth.

Additionally, the infamous subconscious impression amongst many spiritual practitioners and seekers, ‘you cannot be spiritual and a servant of the Divine, if you charge for your talent or knowledge’ continues to be the self-imposed prison that forces many spiritual workers to thrash about in a sea of lack.

These are just an infinitesimal sampling of the money-and- spirituality-don’t-mix disease.

Indeed, if one becomes consumed with the pursuit of wealth from the external vantage point, their spiritual unification will be compromised. They may achieve wealth but at the cost of the fulfillment of their divine destiny and at the expense of personal peace.

On the other side, when one pursues spirituality as their premiere directive there is a point at which they will meet a fork in the road. They will be met with the decision to remain singularly dedicated to their personal, individual,
self-seeking spiritual pursuits or expand into a place of connection with the greater spiritual community. There’s nothing wrong with either approach.

However, there is a level of responsibility that is arguably unfulfilled. When one’s personal spiritual pursuits yield individual impact and neglects or bypasses the conscientious responsibility of how their personal peace could impact their community or their world, the question of individual self-absorbed importance versus planetary importance remains.

For this reason, it is my belief that it is indeed my responsibility to fulfill a level of prosperity that affords me the capacity to participate and influence the greatest amount of change.

If you were to ask any of the premiere spiritual and evolutionary entrepreneurs, healers, philosophers, and social artists of our time how they feel about money and spirituality, they would agree that the more prosperous a social artist is the more impact they can facilitate.

Mother Theresa renounced her worldly possessions. However, at the same time, she knew the power of prosperity when aligned with an enlightened altruistic cause.

She attracted all the resources and financial contributions necessary to support, feed, and spiritually heal millions.

She did not do this by rejecting prosperity or by condemning those who seek it, but by unifying the Truth of her being as pure potential and therefore both spiritual and rich.

It’s true, there is a fine balance. When one pursuit or the other becomes our primary focus we are not in alignment with our greatest human potential.

Additionally, the law of reciprocity demands that we give in order to receive. There will be no harvest without a period of prepping, planting, and fertilizing.

I believe that this incredible time on the planet is one of profound transformational and evolutionary change. I believe that we are light workers creating a planetary society built on the principles of spiritual peace and universal love.

Therefore, I gratefully embrace that with prosperity I am a force to be reckoned with. Without prosperity, I can only inspire change at the level of consciousness that causes my own lack.

The Kabbalah, in my limited studies, has had a profound impact on my understanding of the Universal Laws. One such transformational idea that has supported my integral understanding of the law of reciprocity is the concept of ‘the bread of shame’.

When we get something for nothing, there is a part of our being that rejects this hand-out. We spiritually and intuitively regret the free offering because we didn’t earn or rightfully deserve it. Additionally, we are not spiritually or physically prepared to manage the offering.

If you’ve ever played a sport, then imagine how nonplussed it would feel to win the game as a result of the other team sitting down on the field just so you could win.

Is this a victory that you’d be excited about? NO! It’s a terribly disappointing victory! A no-effort victory yields no emotional or celebratory excitement. If there’s no competition – why play the game?!?!

Think also about the troubling statistics of lottery winners and what evidence this supports in relationship to the bread of shame.

“The reality is that 70 percent of all lottery winners will squander away their winnings in a few years,” the Connecticut financial advisers (Michael Begin and Darl LePage) said in a news release. “In the process, they will see family and friendships destroyed and the financial security they hoped for disappear.

Statistics show lottery winners often go bankrupt, get divorced and have family feuds, he said.” – Article: Financial planners: Winning the lottery isn’t always a dream By DEENA WINTER / Lincoln Journal Star, Saturday, Feb 25, 2006

I have given thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of complimentary coaching and courses to students in need. Unfortunately, no matter how much I give away, I’m most often disappointed in the student’s inability to use the information.

When it’s f*ree there’s no skin-in-the-game! When a person doesn’t have any pulling desire to hold themselves accountable, because it didn’t cost them anything to participate, the motivation to actually apply the information is simply not there.

I have been shunned and berated by spiritual seekers not understanding the law of abundance and the law of reciprocity. They want to know how ethical it is for someone to make a living or worse ‘get rich’ by selling information.

The truth is that everything I teach is readily available for free. This is also true for any teacher on the planet. If one wants to know what a teacher knows, all they have to do is their homework and research to find it. One never has to pay for knowledge if they are willing to do the work.

However, just as the bread of shame principle prevents us from rejoicing in an undeserving victory, when we receive the key to free knowledge we seldom, if ever, use it to open the door.

Therefore, I beseech every spiritual worker to honor and acknowledge their Divine inheritance. Step up to the truth that you were born to be unlimited and financially prosperous.

The next time the idea that spirituality doesn’t include prosperity crosses your mind, rebuke the idea! Instead, embrace a higher calling to accept your unlimitedness, embrace not only your Divine Right to financial peace but your inherent responsibility to be prosperous.

The more you have, whether it’s financial abundance or mental, emotional, or physical abundance, the more profound an impact you may facilitate.

You owe it to yourself and your fellow light-workers to be prosperous in all ways.

Here’s an exercise for you! If you notice any idea within this article is creating a negative response within, then take your inkling to your journal right away. Write down any thought that may be causing you resistance or any thought that suggests you can’t have both money and spirituality.

Until one is aware of their limitations, they will be bound by them.

Once you have your limiting beliefs on paper, firmly deny it. Emphatically refuse to tolerate anything that keeps you and your Divine Right to prosperity separate. Affirm the opposite of any limiting belief, now.

If you know EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) then use it now to get rid of any and all negative thoughts about spirituality and money. Use any releasing method that you know to eliminate any and all resentments about people making money in the spiritual market, people making money in general, wanting to get something for nothing, or you earning a living as a light-worker.

Start with yourself, acknowledge any limiting baggage that no longer serves you and be willing to renew your consciousness with the knowledge that Divine prosperity is your birthright.

Allow your inner being to remind you – Abundance is everywhere! There’s more than enough to go around! Claim yours now.

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

Picture a glorious Oak tree towering above all of its surroundings. The Oak tree is a grand, magnificent demonstration of God’s omnipotent brilliance.

Now, look at the Oak tree and ask yourself, how does an acorn, that seemingly insignificant knobby-shaped seed, become such a masterpiece?

Did you know that it takes around 10,000 acorns to produce maybe. maybe on a good day, three Oak trees? Now, ask yourself, is that Oak tree any less or more grand because it required 10,000 seeds before this magnificent masterpiece could manifest?

If the Oak tree parent decided, “That’s just too much effort. 10,000 acorns?!? Pffftt! Forget it then – that’s way too much trouble,” then the Oak tree would cease to exist.

If the Oak tree did give up, it’s possible that it might briefly enjoy the life of indolent ease. However, eventually it would realize that it did not have any sense of purpose either. Apathy would ensue and finally death, as death stands at the doorway of apathy. After all, if it wasn’t meant to propagate and prosper, the swelling question becomes, “why do I bother to exist at all?”

Like the book and corresponding movie, Children of Men by P.D. James, apathy and emotional death are the natural consequences of a spirit that gives up on its purpose.

Fortunately for those who have ever climbed a grand Oak or taken a nap under one’s majestic, protective shade, the Oak tree doesn’t look at those 9,997 acorns as failures, or too much effort!

The credo of ‘I do what must be done – because that’s just what I do’ occurs naturally in the plant and animal kingdom. I ask, in the spirit of exploring the essential elements of intentional creation, what if we, the two-legged mammals (and I’m not talking about us, kangaroos!), could choose this attitude?

What if instead of saying, “But, I don’t want to put forth 10,000 acorns before I get a tree!!!” We said, “I am willing to put forth whatever effort is required, even if it’s 10,000 or more!”

An Oak tree doesn’t say, “This is just too much effort; everything I do requires too much work and 10,000 acorns is just too long to wait. Nothing I ever do comes easy or works out for me.”

No, an acorn becomes an Oak tree because that’s what it seeks to do. An Oak tree spawns 10,000 acorns if that’s what it takes to propagate because that’s what it does. It doesn’t fight it. It doesn’t struggle against it. It just does what it does. It puts them out and life takes care of itself.

If, as a conscious creator, we could look at our desires and what we want out of life; look at our goals, and just do what must be done with a similar attitude, then the natural consequence would be our own majestic manifestations of magnificent proportions.

Oh, and the splendid byproduct of such an attitude would be more joy, fulfillment, peace, prosperity, and flow in the process!

We must remember that it’s the resistance to ‘hard work’ that makes work hard. It’s the resistance to ‘taking too much time’ that makes time stand still. If instead of the attitude of, “this is hard; this takes too much effort; this is too much of a struggle;’ you just put out the acorns knowing that one of them, two of them, three of them will eventually take off and take off big; become that magnificent Oak tree that you really desire then your big dreams as well as little desires would reliably manifest.

If you seek to utilize the power of the law of attraction to create magnificent success, I suggest you first seek to create an attitude of persistence, commitment, resilience, and most importantly a willingness to do what must be done with ZEST and ENTHUSIASM!

That’s actually a Catherine Ponder quote from her book, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity: “I do what must be done with zest and enthusiasm.”

When I was about seven months pregnant with my 2nd child, Ashlyn, I was walking out of the gym when I saw a pile of shattered glass all over the ground. I remember thinking, “Oh my! Someone broke something.” Well, I was right. What they broke was my car window to steal my purse and briefcase! Well, I can honestly remember thinking, “oh bummer. and oh well, let me just clean it up and move along.” Then, I realized that in addition to my wallet, money, and credit cards they had my Catherine Ponder book!

That’s when I got mad! You see, it was perfectly highlighted, dog-eared, and every magical affirmation, quote, and meaningful theory was pulled forth for me in my margined shorthand notes.
Her simple affirmation, “I do what must be done with zest and enthusiasm!” changed my entire outlook on ‘work’ and ‘getting ahead’ and ‘effort’.

This was a new concept for me. It’s safe to say that I’ve always been goal oriented and a go-for-your-dreams kind of gal. However, I never did it with zest and enthusiasm?!?! In fact, the ‘harder’ it was the better my story. You know what I mean, don’t you?!

When I moved to California, fresh out of high school, barely 18, with no money, no place to live, no job, no relatives, no car and only one friend, it was indeed ‘very hard.’ I can remember eating peanut butter and crackers for -forever! I walked to job interview after job interview to get a job. I remember walking more than 8 hours one day just filling out job applications!

And, hey – it’s a good story now. I get to share with my children my own version of, “I walked 5 miles to school every day in freezing snow, barefoot and uphill – both ways.”

However, I didn’t do it with any kind of ‘zest and enthusiasm’. In fact, I bet that had I come from a place of zest, enthusiasm, willingness, openness, optimism and cheerfulness, I would NOT have had to eat peanut butter nearly as long and I bet someone would have hired me sooner!

That’s how the law of attraction works. I knew I would eventually knock on the right door at the right time to get a job, but I made it more difficult with my resistance to just being at peace with the process. Maybe it’s because I wanted the ’story’, or maybe it’s because I thought ‘life’s supposed to be hard’, or ‘I’m not worthy of having it be easy’. Or, maybe, it was hard because I fought what needed to be done so fiercely.

You’ve heard the simple allegory that illustrates the importance of having a success strategy:

Q: How do you eat an Elephant?
A: One bite at a time.

As we break down our goals into small, action oriented steps we structure our pathway to success. This one simple mindset (breaking big tasks down into little tasks) is notorious for being the secret to success for many a millionaire.

For conscious creators who understand the concept of one bite at a time add to this intention – one delicious bite at a time and you’ll suddenly feel more empowered, energized, focused, and steadfast in the obtainment of your goal.

Use the law of attraction to attract a mindset of, “Willingness to do what must be done with Zest & Enthusiasm” and the rest of the manifestation will follow. Use the power of your mind to override any resistance to doing what must be done and instead view the 10,000 seeds that you must plant as simply, “what I do” and what you do will be successful.

Do you have a Big Enough WHY?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

What do you do if your WHY isn’t BIG enough?!

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

When I share with others that I’m training for a marathon, they inevitably ask, “how far do you run in a marathon?” The answer of course is 26.2 miles. Then they ask, ‘Where is the marathon?” My answer this time is Washington D.C. and the Marine Corps Marathon.

The next question I get is “Why? Why would you run 26.2 miles voluntarily?!?”

Initially, I wanted to run because I wanted to lose my ‘baby’ weight after my second child, Ashlyn. However, for whatever reason, this goal alone didn’t have a big enough ‘WHY’ attached. I was inconsistent and uncommitted. I’d run three days then miss a week, over and over again.

I knew I needed a worthier goal; a challenge that would cause me to dig deeper and commit more fully with greater attention and intention in order to succeed. I decided I needed to run a marathon. However, once again ‘running a marathon’ didn’t have a big enough WHY to pull me into that place of lasting commitment. Again, I would run consistently for a few weeks then slack off. I was never going to get there unless I found my bigger WHY!

So, for my first marathon, I had to make my WHY bigger than just me alone. I joined Team in Training which raises money for the leukemia society. Now, I had to not only train and run 26.2 miles but along with my brother, Chance, who runs with me, we had to raise more than $10,000.00 dollars! I have a special place in my heart for TNT and the Leukemia Society. I lost my grandfather to this terrible disease long before I should have and I felt that if I can make a contribution that helps in finding the cure that saves someone else’s grandfather, father, or loved one, THEN maybe, I had my big enough WHY!

Sure enough, this was the ‘WHY’ I needed. Chance and I ran the Mayor’s Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska last June and raised a significant amount of money for a worthy cause.

If you have a goal that you aren’t able to fully and intentionally manifest, it may be that your WHY simply isn’t big enough.

Let’s look at how our WHYS affect us as a society:

We know that welfare doesn’t work. Is it because most welfare
recipients WHYS aren’t big enough to do anything different?
A welfare mother wants a better life but as it stands,
although she’s not living any form of an easy life, at least
she doesn’t HAVE to work her fingers to the bone for
‘enough’ to get by on. Additionally, she risks what she
does have if she finds a job that pays too much to continue
receiving assistance but not enough to live on her own.
Many do not have a big enough WHY to break out of the
system.

This same WHY-deficient apathy can be seen in certain subsets of our
veterans, our physically disabled, Native American communities, and in the trust-fund babies that were born with a silver spoon, for example.

If the WHY isn’t big enough to choose to do something with our life, then we just don’t. (This statement is not just about the above mentioned subsets but about all of us!)

What about the phenomena that happens to men who retire and
suddenly experience progressive illness and early death?
Research has shown that employees who retired at age 55 had
almost double the mortality risk of those who continued
working into their 60s. (-Shell Health Services study,
according to the report in the British Medical Journal,
published Oct. 2005) Could it be that suddenly their “WHY”
for living and staying healthy, their sense of purpose and
meaning is no longer valid? ”

How many extraordinary, revolutionary changes have occurred because someone stood up for what was ‘right’, when their WHY got big enough? Was it their WHY that inspired the men and women who rallied to create the declaration of independence, the civil rights movement, or a woman’s right to vote, for example?

What would happen if your WHY was big enough?

If your WHY was big enough, you would be inspired to not just visualize, wish, and hope for your dreams to come true, you would get out and take action to make them come true. You would follow that guidance that says, “Take a risk, now!”

You would find the courage to change career paths, read that book, learn a new skill, hire some help, take a class, or interview someone that’s already doing what you want to do, if your WHY was big enough.

Relating to my own life and another time when my WHY wasn’t big enough, I recall the shift that changed it all for me. When I first started my business, my son was only a few weeks old. I was living with my husband in a very bad relationship but I had my basic needs covered, not by me but because my husband was supporting me. I wanted to earn a living with my business but truth be told, I wasn’t. It was only after I left my husband and declared that I would find a way to make this business successful even if it meant living in my car to do it, that I found the conviction to manifest success!

This is when my WHY got big enough. I wasn’t able to focus my mind and body enough to create success until I removed my safety blanket. When I found myself faced with either choosing success or choosing to live out of my car with my newborn son and my dog, I shifted into a place of determination; a focused sense of purpose that nothing and no one could stop.

What would happen if you were forced to succeed because your WHY was big enough? What if you were told by a court of law (or an enforcement party), “you will lose your -loved one – (your children, your husband, your wife, your mother, your father, etc.) if you don’t earn 1 Million dollars in 90 days?” Do you think you could do it?

In the book The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen, this is exactly the test that the lead character goes through. She must earn 1 Million dollars in 90 days or lose her children forever. Suddenly, her WHY for creating success just got big enough to make her turn on her passionate fires of determination to move and and earth to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

In your life, where is your WHY big enough and where is your WHY not big enough?

Signs and Signals that your WHY isn’t big enough:

  • procrastination
  • self-judgment
  • embarrassment
  • self-doubt
  • indecisiveness
  • confusion
  • fear of making a mistake
  • fear of failure
  • apathy
  • all talk but no action
  • inconsistent action

When you can identify your BIG WHY and combine that with your intentional thoughts, you will create the success you really want.

When we combine a big enough WHY with a focused body/mind (our y’chi) we enact the laws of the Universe in ways that will literally part the seas for us!

For this marathon, my WHY is about seeing things through (something I need to work on); about personal, physical mastery (something that I want to make sure I’m walking my talk on), perseverance and finishing what I start (how can I ask you to do this, if I can’t?). My WHY this time is that if I’m going to ask my clients to break down all obstacles to their success – then I better be able to do it for myself. I found my WHY again!

For you and your big goal, where is your WHY and if it’s not big enough, courageously choose to make it bigger. The Universe always supports bold, courageous and faith-centered action. Trust in the Divine and follow your guidance.

Tithing: How and Where to do it to Activate the Law of Ten-Fold Return?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Is there such a thing as over-giving or misguided giving? The reason I ask is because throughout of my life, all I remembered of my mother was that she gave to everyone, and she was grossly taken advantage of. My mother was a wonderful woman who did not know how to say no to individuals who took gross advantage of her kindness. I had to do a lot of forgiveness work during the last few years of my mother’s life, when it became so clear how much everyone took from her and no one was really there to care for her but me. Truly, it has been a challenge for me being on the spiritual path and doing the best I can to continue to love, give, serve and forgive and witness individuals coming to me like perpetual charity cases. What are your thoughts on this? I am ready to transform this and transcend it permanently! -Love, Sandra

When our giving is out of balance, we can be stripped of a healthy sense of reciprocity and honoring boundaries. If you are giving too much then it can absolutely create a negative attractor pattern. When our giving leaves us feeling used, taken advantage of, and even abused, we must take a step back to re-assess our ‘giving intentions.’

If our giving is coming from a place of healthy generosity with no strings attached, then we are in alignment with healthy tithing.

However, if our giving intention is from a place of obligation, guilt, shame, a need to control, a need to make restitution for a wrong-doing, or a need to feel or be acknowledged as a certain ‘type’ of person; a need to be thought of as generous, powerful, or successful, for example, then this intention is out-of-balance and therefore our giving is out of balance.

Over-giving comes from a co-dependent need to be validated and cherished, which is always inspired by a lack of self-confidence and an inability to be our own source of happiness.

When we give to make up for our ‘inadequacy’, we will never be able to give enough to fill the void we feel inside.

The solution is the same as it is for any other ill-belief – to work towards pure self-confidence; to work towards fully embracing an absolute certainty of your unlimitedness; a belief and firm knowingness that you are indeed a Divine Child of God, worthy of all that you desire.

From this place, you’ll be inspired to give according to the higher order of life and not from a place of limitation.

Excerpt from “The Greatest Secret of All” by Marc Allen

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

I turned thirty. I woke up in a state of shock, finally realizing I wasn’t a kid anymore. I had no job and no savings or any other assets except an old torn-up electric piano. I was scrounging (a word we used often) to come up with money every month for rent for my little studio apartment in a funky part of Oakland, California.

That day changed my life, because I began to apply some ideas in some new ways, ideas that before had just been occasional floating thoughts, ephemeral and remote possibilities in my mind. I sat down and wrote on paper what became – for me, in my words – the first secret of manifestation:

The first step to discovering the secret of manifestation is to write your ideal scene on paper, your dream life five years in the future. Begin with the end in mind, and keep it in mind.

The day I turned thirty, I sat down and took a sheet of paper and wrote Ideal Scene at the top. I imagined everything had gone as well as I could possibly imagine, and somehow, over the next five years, I was able to create the ideal life for me. What would it look like? What would I do and have, and who would I be? I was surprised, even shocked in a strange way, at what came spilling out on paper. I imagined I had a publishing company, successfully publishing books and music, including my own books and music. Before I sat down and wrote out my ideal scene, I had absolutely no interest in business. I had never taken a business course. I had never written a book or recorded my music. The words that spilled out when I wrote my ideal scene surprised me as much as they were to surprise just about everyone else I knew.

I imagined I wrote successful books and recorded beautiful music as well. I imagined I had a lovely white home on a hill in northern California, one of my favorite places on earth. I imagined I had a wonderfully loving relationship.

I dared to imagine my ideal, so I imagined I had plenty of time for it all: creativity, a successful business, friends and family, and plenty of free time alone for myself as well.

And I added something else that changed my life dramatically: When I dared to think of my ideal, the kind of life I would have if I could have anything at all, I realized what I really wanted was a life of ease. I didn’t want to work too hard. The few forty-hour-a-week jobs I had tried hadn’t worked out, and working that many hours felt inhumane to me. Ideally, I wanted plenty of time for ease and relaxation, plenty of time for my creative life, spiritual life, and personal life with friends and family.

That was my ideal: success with ease, and success without compromising the other things that were important to me in life. I wanted to do what I loved, and not have to do anything I didn’t really enjoy.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I was beginning to learn secrets that were far greater than the secret of manifestation.

The simple step of writing down my ideal scene led me to discover the unfailing natural laws of manifestation.

I stared at that sheet of paper awhile and realized that within it was a list of goals. I took a second sheet of paper and listed all the goals I could think of. There were twelve of them, at first. (Now I’m down to six.)

It was thirty years ago, but I remember it clearly: As I was writing my goals, I was assaulted with doubts and fears. I wrote, “Start and build a successful company,” and my thoughts were churning – You? Who are you trying to kid? You have no money, and you need money to make money! You know nothing of business! You don’t even like business! And it’ll wreck your creativity! It’ll destroy your soul! Money is the root of all evil! The rich man has as much chance of entering the Kingdom as a camel does of going through the eye of a needle! On and on it went – an endless stream of doubts, fears, and darkly negative thoughts.

But then I remembered something I had read in a book by Catherine Ponder, a Unity Church minister. She wrote about the power of affirmations – simple statements or declarations that your dream or goal is now coming into being. They work best when they’re in the present tense, worded in a way that your subconscious mind can accept and begin to absorb and play with.

The most vivid phrase I remember from Catherine Ponder’s writing has become part of my daily life. She said that affirmations are even more effective if they start or end with this phrase: In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way. . .

So I took another sheet of paper and rewrote each goal as an affirmation, beginning with that phrase. I worded my goal of starting and building a successful business like this: In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, I am now building a successful business.

The second step to discovering the secret of manifestation is to write your goals as affirmations, beginning with In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way.

Years later, looking back, I realized how powerful those words were – so powerful, in fact, that by repeating them daily, I overcame many of my doubts and fears. What, after all, are our doubts and fears whispering to us? It isn’t easy; it’s very difficult! It certainly isn’t relaxed; it’s stressful! It’s not healthy for you, not even positive. You’ll fail! You don’t know what you’re doing! You’re a fool!

That powerful little phrase – in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way-repeated thousands of times, overcame a lot of those doubts and fears. It took me about five years, but I finally got it through my thick skull that it was possible to create a great deal of success in the world in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way.

Don’t underestimate the power of those words-or the power of any words you repeat to yourself. Our thoughts determine our actions. And our actions lead, inevitably, to success or failure, fulfillment or frustration.

I typed up my list of goals as affirmations and carried it around with me in my back pocket. I often began the day by reading that list. I read it at my desk as I started to work. I read it in the bathroom sometimes.

Some deep part of me knew that if I kept reading and rereading that list, my subconscious mind would absorb it sooner or later, and I would eventually be able to turn those distant, ephemeral dreams into solid intentions – and once that happened, those intentions would soon become reality.

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Regarding Tithing: Is it OK to tithe to individuals?
I am ready to start Tithing more today. My wife and I were going to start committing 5% of our gross income to the homeless. We had already started putting a committed dollar amount of money in our car and every time we would see someone homeless we would pull over and give it to them. I did get an unexpected pay increase and the Tithing would be a significant amount more. My wife works next to a homeless help center and we have access to people in need, do you think it is OK to commit our Tithing to individuals of need or does it have to be to an institution. We have never told them what to do with the money. We just feel it might make them feel better if they can do some things on their own without having to ask for everything. – Please advise. -

Hi John,

What a blessing you and your wife are!

Yes, tithe to wherever you feel spiritually fed. If giving to those in need supports you in ‘feeling’ like you are making a difference AND you are completely detached to where/how they spend the money then you are giving with aligned intentions and that’s what counts! Tithing, as it relates to greater abundance, works because it’s showing the Universe that you know that you are unlimited and that your wealth is limitless. When you tithe from an aligned place of confidence, you send forth a vibration of trust, faith, and certainty that resonates with prosperity; you send forth a magnetic beacon that says you KNOW that your source and supply is not the money in your hand that you are giving away but the endless and immediate, never-ending supply of lavish prosperity that comes from your consciousness of the Divine within, as your source and supply.

In Paula Langguth Ryan’s book, “Giving Thanks: The Art of Tithing”. She addresses the issue of ‘charity vs. tithing’ and the confusion around ‘where and when it’s appropriate to tithe’.

She writes, “Whatever name you call the gifts you give freely, cheerfully, joyfully and willingly, keep giving them with grateful thanksgiving and you will find yourself firmly in the flow of abundance.”

We don’t need to make our ‘giving or tithing’ complicated! Simply give to the people, places, or things that support you in expressing the Truth of your Divine Inheritance – that you are an unlimited child of God with unlimited resources and that your source and supply is instant and immediate.

Simultaneously, choose to be mindful and honor your current ‘reality and beliefs’ of financial growth. This means you don’t want to overspend or make purchases on credit cards to display your ‘new belief’. This will most likely only engage the energy of debt, lack and poverty consciousness and that’s the opposite of what you want.

By taking aligned actions that are in balance with both abundant prosperity and your current state of acknowledged reality, you will consistently grow your prosperity consciousness and thereby grow your flow and materialization of abundance.

TEN STRATEGIES TO CREATING LAVISH PROSPERITY

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

Your point of attraction is right now and the Universe does not know the difference between real and imagined, it simply responds to your vibration in the moment. Therefore, fantasize, visualize and day-dream your reality!

1) Spend Freely Mentally Everywhere you go, say to yourself, “I have the financial ability to purchase anything I desire in cash right now, therefore what do I want, right now? I shall have one of these and two of those and I’ll have my assistant pick them up for me this afternoon.” Put a 100-dollar bill in your wallet and spend it 50 times throughout the day. See it and multiply it by 10 every time you open your wallet.

2) Create a Gratitude Journal: Log and give thanks for all the abundance you have now and have always had every morning and every evening.

3) Release the OldCreate a vacuum! Clean out your closet, get rid of the clutter, use your good stationery, and wear your most expensive perfume!

4) Show God you know his promise will be kept and exhaust the resources at hand, pay the bills you can now, know the Divine is your source and your supply is inexhaustible!

5) Play the million dollars a month game. If you had to spend a million dollars every month for 6 months, what would you buy, how would you tithe, how would you feel, what would you do? Really go through the motions of what you would have to do to spend that money!

6) Forgive yourself for your debts and forgive your debtors! Release anyone that owes you anything and caste your burden of debts on the Christ within. Give it to God!

7) Create Abundance Affirmations and reminders and place them everywhere.

I love being debt free and I enjoy purchasing anything I desire in cash, when I desire it! I love driving my new __________, I feel so free and fabulous in my new ride! My income far exceeds all of my wants, needs and desires! I rejoice in my abundant prosperity and financial freedom! I love giving and receiving freely! I am rich, rich, rich and I love it!

Abundance is my birthright and I now command $40,000.00 into my account now! Times 10!

8 ) Script a vision of how you will have to adjust your life to your new abundant lifestyle. How will you make the changes, what preparations need to be made, how will it look, feel, taste, smell? Walk in this new vision and elaborate and expand it everyday!

9) Become superstitiously silly about the riches that are coming your way and associate every day activities to the energy of more money. For example, every time you shift into drive say, “I’m driving into abundance now!” Every time you find a penny, pick it up, giving thanks for the hundreds of thousands more that are coming your way. Every time you receive and/or pay a bill say, “I give thanks for your complete payment and for every dollar I release, ten more comes my way.” Every time you pass a beggar, give to them and bless them for helping you know your supply is endless and immediate!

10) Create a Prosperity Collage! Cut out magazine clippings, newspaper ads of items you want, words that inspire you and imagine, visualize and fantasize with your collage every day.

Manifest Big Things as Easily as Little Things!

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Dear Anisa,
Manifesting is coming to me easier now than when I first started a year ago. It seems to have a lot to do with how much negativity I am carrying around at the time. My question is this – why am I manifesting things that are not true goals? For instance, three days ago I looked at some frozen bananas in my freezer and thought, “Hmmm, I would really enjoy a piece of banana cake again; it’s been so long since I’ve had any.” That was my one and only thought about banana cake. Today I attended a potluck at work and the dessert was – you guessed it- banana cake! It was delicious, but it wasn’t that big of a deal to me if I had any or not when I looked at my bananas! Similarly, I have been studying leadership lately and reading books on the topic. I had not told my boyfriend about my new interest, nor had he seen me reading anything, but what does he bring me one night? A book on leadership! Why am I manifesting the “little” things while waiting for the bigger?
Thanks -Sue

Law of Attraction Help

This is a question we all share at one point in time or another. It seems as though the things we really want take forever and are more difficult to manifest while the things we don’t care that much about materialize almost instantly.

Why is it easier for the Universe to give us banana cake but not the prosperity to purchase all the banana cakes we could ever desire?

Why is it easier for the Universe to give us a book on leadership, just because we’ve been thinking about it, but not the executive-level promotion that we’ve wanted to actually apply that leadership?

The error lies in my question. It’s not that the Universe ‘gives’ us anything more easily than something else. It’s that our level of belief is pure with one creation and contaminated with the other.

The laws of creation are always working on the same consistent, immutable and impersonal laws of physics day in and day out, without regard to the magnitude of the physical mass of the desired object.

However, most of us don’t have a whole lot of attachment to whether we get ‘princess parking’ but we do have a whole lot of attachment to whether or not we win that lottery, get our mortgage paid, or put food on our kid’s table!

Here’s what you can do to start making the BIG creations as easy and effortless as the little creations:

Practice the Law of Detachment.

It’s easy to manifest a cappuccino unless of course we are dying of thirst!

It’s easy to manifest something unless of course we fear that if we don’t get it, we will … never be happy, be a failure, die unfulfilled, etc. These are just a sampling of the limiting beliefs that most of us share to some degree.

When we feel ‘afraid’ we know we are attached. When we are attached to the outcome, we cannot manifest it easily because vibrationally we are simply not in alignment with that creation.

Therefore, the first step in manifesting the ‘bigger’ things easier is to detach from the outcome.

This feels like:

Truly making peace with what is:

I am at peace with whatever happens. I know that all is well and in Divine Order.

Being willing to never have what you want:

I am willing to trust that the Divine has my best interest in mind and therefore, if it’s meant to be that I never ‘get this’, then so be it. I trust in the Divine.

Be willing to have all that you want: I am willing to have my desire fulfilled in Divine Order and Divine Timing now.

If you continue to feel afraid to let go, then you will have to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), meditation, visualizations and/or affirmations until you can be at peace with letting it go and trusting in the Divine.

Being at peace does NOT mean resigning yourself to not having what you want. Here’s your distinction – resignation feels hopeless while Peace feels hopeful. If you feel despondent or any shade of sad or negative, then you are still attached. Continue working your ‘thoughts and emotions’ around until you can be at PEACE.

Give it to God.

The second thing you can do is to start handing more of the bigger things over to God (the Big U, the Divine).

It is not your responsibility to ‘make things happen’ it is Gods. Let spirit do its job and get out of the way. It’s okay to command and demand… let the Universe know that you want a relationship and you expect it now. Tell the Divine that you fully expect wealth immediately and then prepare to receive it. (This takes some practice but you’ll like the results – SAY to this MOUNTAIN MOVE and it will!)

Create a Masterpiece – not a stick figure!

The third thing you can do is to get clear about what you really want. Most of the time our big dreams are overarching ideas without very many details. We spend very little time and attention actually developing the vision of what this ‘dream’ would look like in our lives. The Big U gives us bits and pieces of our Big-Dream-Vision because that’s all we ever order. Sit down, write out what you want, and create a Masterpiece – not a stick figure!

If you will practice detachment, hand more of your ‘to-do’ list over to God and add detail, specifics, and fine brushstrokes to your masterpiece, then your bigger dreams will show up with great ease with every day.

You are a Divine Child of God, start acting like it!

How do I detach when I want it so badly, NOW?!

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

How to Manfiest Question

How to Manfiest Question

Nearly 10 years ago my husband and I decided that what we really wanted was to live a simple and “abundant” life by the ocean, run our own business from home and take 12 -18 months off to travel around Australia. Recently we did our ’sums’ and realised that if we can sell our townhouse – we will own our country house, have the money to take the time out and travel around Australia and enough money to return to start up our own business. After 10 long years it is now THAT close. We have our townhouse on the market and the real estate agents are happy with the ‘challenge’ of getting the top price for us. Now all we need is for our townhouse to sell and our dream has become REAL. How do we now ‘detach’ and wait an unknown length of time for the sale to happen, knowing it could be tomorrow – or 6 months away? I feel our time has come – NOW! I am READY, I have visualised and believed and ’seen’ our sale happening and know exactly how wonderful that is going to FEEL, but after only 3 weeks of being on the market and having to put energy into presentation on a daily basis in case buyers come through – it’s difficult to ‘let it go’ and to keep believing the sale will manifest without another few months of waiting and working and more of the same pattern of the past 10 years.
I would love some feedback and my toughest manifestation is to have our townhouse sell NOW – before winter comes and before too much time goes on. I truly feel I have waited long enough and the time has come for us – we just need a sale and I would dearly love to have it manifested in our lives NOW!

Law of Attraction Help

Law of Attraction Help

You have waited long enough and you’ve worked hard for 10 years to get where you are. You have every right to want it now. However, don’t lose sight of what you’ve accomplished and fall short of your goal by agonizing over the timing.

I am reminded of the story of Florence Chadwick, the first woman to swim the English Channel. On July 4, 1952, she made her first attempt to swim the 21-mile channel between Catalina Island and the mainland of California. She jumped in off the beach of Catalina, swam her heart out and for a while all was well. However, the water was freezing cold and then a thick fog rolled in. The fog made it difficult to see the support boats and the constant threat of hidden sharks made each stroke all the more grueling. After 16 hours of struggling with the ice-cold ocean, dense fog and relentless fear, Florence Chadwick gave up and asked to be pulled into the boat. When she got in the boat, she was so disappointed in herself because she immediately could see that she only had a few 100 yards to go. She could have made it easily. Later, Florence Chadwick said to a reporter: “If could have just seen the land for myself, I would have made it!” On her second attempt, she made that swim in record time.

Your work now is to not get caught up in the fog of the moment by forgetting that your goal is only a short distance away. In order to do this, there are several clear steps that you can take to detach from your house selling now, surrender to the Divine Order and at the same time manifest a perfect, timely and smooth townhouse transaction.

You have to keep an eye on your attraction meter. Do this by monitoring how you are feeling throughout the day and then by responding appropriately to ANY negative tinge or feeling.

First, when you find yourself feeling negative, counter that negative feeling by asking: What thought is creating this negative feeling? Once you’ve uncovered the thought, first dismiss the thought by acknowledging your accomplishments and pat yourself on the back: “Look at how far we’ve come! Look at how determined, focused and dedicated we’ve been to this goal! I am proud of what we’ve done. We are successful and we have so much to be confident and excited about.”

Second, be grateful that so many fabulous things have come true for you and your husband: “I am so grateful that we’ve had enough foresight and tenacity to see our way to manifesting this upcoming opportunity. I am so grateful that life has unfolded perfectly. I am grateful that we set forth this goal so clearly before. I am grateful that all of the circumstances are falling easily into place now. I am grateful that we have a realtor who is working hard to sell the townhouse. I am grateful that we invested wisely. I am grateful that we are young enough, healthy enough, brave enough , etc. to pursue this dream.”

Third, surrender to the Divine Order of life by letting it all go. Say, “whatever is meant to be – will be. The Divine Order of life is now at hand and I can’t stop it. All is well.” I also support you in saying, “If it’s meant to be that we sell the townhouse now, then it will, but if it’s not meant to be, then we won’t. Whatever is in the highest good for all concerned is what I’m at peace with, now. I am at peace with the Law of Attraction at work in this situation now. If it happens before winter, that’s perfect but if it doesn’t that’s fine too. I am at peace with the Divine timing of this and all of our desires.”

And fourth, speak what you want from a place of peace and confidence. “What I intend to have is a fabulous journey and for our business to grow perfectly upon our return. What I intend to have is…”

The third step always seems to be the hardest. Let me clarify that surrendering to the Divine Order is NOT giving up. Surrendering is not creating that it won’t sell because you’re at peace with whatever happens but instead it’s the acknowledgement that all is well and that the Divine Order is at hand. Surrendering is remembering that there are other factors playing out in your perfect manifestation. For example, what else do you want? I can imagine since you are taking a trip around your country, that part of what you would want is fair, and comfortable weather conditions everywhere you go; comfortable guides, maps, gear and accommodations wherever you may end up; Comfortable and friendly hosts along your journey; Relaxed, kind, loving, accepting, helpful and beautiful people along your path; a nice balance between structure and freedom, giving and taking with nature, and relaxation and challenging but positive stimulus and many other ideal scenarios. These orchestrations are occurring right now and however long it takes for you townhouse to sell is the exact amount of time needed to orchestrate this amazing masterpiece.

Also, remember that every time you wallow in the feeling of anxiousness, you actually halt the flow of energy that will create the perfect sell. Therefore, you have to put your foot down and not allow yourself to worry or fret or feel anxious but instead command your feelings and your thoughts with – “I know this is happening in perfect timing and I let it go, now!!!!! All is well! I have waited this long, I can wait patiently for the Universe to orchestrate everything perfectly and I relax and let it go now.”

One suggestion to increase your true ability to detach is to spend your meditation time with affirmations that acknowledge the Divine Order, Divine Timing, and the presence of God at work right now in your life. Meditate on the idea that you are handing this over to the Universe to handle and you’re letting it go.

It may help to remember that you have managed to manifest 95% of your dream already. You have worked hard, saved money, invested wisely, made sacrifices and prepared to leave. Your creation is 95% complete and you’re in the last leg of the race. Don’t let yourself get back in the boat by doubting. Remember, to stay focused on the dream and how sweet the nectar will taste when you are devouring it as opposed to thinking about wanting to gobble it up now.

Create a fabulous journey and life!
